Would you like to reign as queen or princess at the Illinois Horse Fair? Then join like-minded young ladies at the 3rd Annual Illinois Horse Fair Queen Pageant, March 7-9, 2014.
The Illinois Horse Fair Queen Pageant offers each contestant the opportunity to shine in the horse community, to experience new friends, to grow in horsemanship and to be an inspiration to others wanting to become better equestrians.
Kassandra "Kassie" Bunch
Kassie, 17-year-old daughter of Rick and Angela Bunch of Anna, attends Anna-Jonesboro Community High and aspires to major in animal science and become a veterinarian. Active in 4-H, FFA, USPC, USEA, IBRA, FYRA and Union County and King City Saddle Clubs, she is sponsored by the Union County 4-H Equine Team. Activities and honors include Young Producer Award for horse judging, USPC Quiz captain and national qualifier, and 3-time versatility qualifier at the IL State Fair JR Horse Show. Kassie owns four horses and competes in varying riding disciplines and has chosen to ride her quarter horse, Pancho Stones, in the pageant.
Kaylyn Grace Hall
Sponsored by the Warren County Saddle Club, 16-year-old Kaylyn of Monmouth attends United High School where she is on the honor roll and her favorite subject is biology. Her career goals include being a large animal veterinarian, a horse trainer/clinician, an equine psychologist and show in APHA. Kaylyn is active in 4-H, FFA, APHA, and AjPHA and competes in horse, soil, & seed judging, Horse Bowl, and Hippology. She will ride her Paint horse Button Made of Money in the pageant.
Rebecca Diane Henry
Nineteen-year-old Rebecca attends Joliet Junior College and plans to become a research agronomist. She is the daughter of Stan and Heidi Henry, and is active in FFA, 4-H, and APHA. In addition to riding, she enjoys singing, playing the flute and running. Rebecca owns two horses and competes in barrel racing and pleasure classes. Sponsored by Woodland Meadows of Marsielles, Rebecca will ride her thoroughbred MacTavish in the pageant.
Becca Michelle Schwieter
Aspiring to be an equine veterinarian, 19-year-old, Becca, of Gilson attends Carl Sandburg College where she has been on the Dean's List, in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and on the TRIO Student Support Services Leadership Council. She is also active in the Galesburg Boots & Saddles and the Pekin Riding Clubs. Becca's favorite class is showmanship and she will compete in the pageant with her solid Paint mare Uniquely Mine who she has trained from a weanling. Becca is the daughter of Mike and Joyce Schwieter.
Rachael Elizabeth Webber
Daughter of Michael and Cesilia Webber of Waterloo, this 18-year-old equestrian attends Murray State University where her favorite subject is science and her goals are to become a horse trainer and breeder. Rachael competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association on the MSU Hunt, Stock, and Dressage Teams and is a member of the MSU Horseman's Club. She also competes in Little Egypt Dressage Association shows. Rachael rides daily to prepare for these shows, she will be using her Arabian horse SA Bint Shakira in the pageant.
The youngest of our Princess candidates, twelve year old Maya's favorite subject in school is science and she aspires to be a Biologist. The daughter of Jeff and Crystal Baker of Mapleton, she is active in the Heart of Illinois Pony Club and Midnight Riders 4-H Club. Maya participates in band, choir, scholastic bowl, and Math Counts and is on the honor roll. She also works at her mom's training stable helping younger students to ride and care for horses. Maya will ride the QH/CRW pony Knead to Know in the pageant.
Fifteen year old Renee of Millstadt is the daughter of Michael and Michelle Ellegood. Renee's favorite subject in school is biology and she would like to become a veterinarian. She is active with the Monroe County Hoofbeats 4-H and Special Olympics as well as running cross country, and swimming competitively. Renee rides western, English, dressage and jumps and will ride her Paint horse Noble Speck in the pageant.
Delainey Leeann Enloe
Thirteen year old Delainey of Mulberry Grove is the daughter of Doug and Vicki Enloe. She attends Mulberry Grove Jr. High where she is on the student council and aspires to attend University of MO. Columbia to become physical therapist. Delainey is an active member of AQHA, NRHA, and the Okaw Saddle Club and plays softball, volleyball, cheerleads. She shows western pleasure and reining, and will compete in the pageant on her horse Ima a44Magnum.
Jessica Lynn Hall
Jessica, daughter of Mark and Tracey Hall of Monmouth, attends United Junior High School where she is on the honor roll and plays in the band. Aspiring to be a race horse breeder and trainer, she is sponsored by the Warren County Saddle Club of which she is a member. Jessica is also active in 4-H and MFTHBA in the parade unit, Horse Bowl, Hippology, and horse judging. She will ride her Haflinger cross pony Marvelous Marvin Stud Muffin in the princess pageant.
Savannah Skye Hartwig
Savannah, age 15, the daughter of Victoria Hartwig of New Athens, rides western, English, barrel races, and drives her mini and Haflingers. Our first ever driving contestant, Savannah will compete with her miniature horse Cookie. An honor roll student at New Athens High School, Savannah enjoys biology and aspires to be a doctor or surgeon. She is active in 4-H, and NBHA, and plays piano, softball, runs cross country, and helps run a teen center.
Corrin Iona Hunt
Daughter of Todd and Danielle Hunt, 15 year old Corrin is active in 4-H and FFA where she is the president of the both the Fayette Co Silver Spurs 4-H and Fayette Co Ramsey 4-H and an active member of the Ramsey FFA. Corrin hopes to one day be a veterinarian. She is currently active in IPHA, APHA, PAC, AjPHA and trains her 2 show horses. She is sponsored by Hunt Bros. Farm in Ramsey and will ride her Paint horse Indeed An Asset in the pageant.
Alexis "Lexi" Rae Kelly
Fifteen year old Lexi of Waterloo, is active in AQHA and NBHA competes in barrel racing, hunter/jumpers, and showmanship. She is the daughter of Brian and Lori Kelly and is sponsored by the Rough Riders 4-H Club. Lexi attends Waterloo High School where she is active in FFA and her favorite subject is agriculture. She will compete in the pageant with her Quarter Horse Hollywood Spin It.
Olivia Faith Reed
Olivia Faith, 15, daughter of Brett and Kelly Schipkowski, enjoys showing western pleasure, hunter under saddle, reining, and training horses. She is a sophomore at Waterloo High School and plans a career as a large animal veterinarian. Active in 4-H, FFA and at Briarstone Riding Academy, she will be riding her Paint horse, Zippos Scotch Bonanza in the pageant.
Emma Renee Sells
Emma, age 15, an honor roll student at Abingdon High, enjoys history and wants to “go to college and be successful at the job I choose.” She is active with the Rusty Spurs 4-H, Galesburg Boot & Saddle Club and the New Windsor Drill Team as well as drama club, and plays softball. Emma is sponsored by the Illinois Draft Horse Association, Briarwood Carriage Services, and Joleen Carle. She is the daughter of George and Marie Pease and Deb Derry and will compete in the pageant on a Belgian Draft named Pass the Buck.
Rebecca Rose Sewell
Daughter of Nancy Sewell, 15-year-old Rebecca lives in Waterloo where she is home schooled. Rebecca enjoys biology and hopes to become a veterinarian. Active with the Monroe County Hoofbeats 4-H Club, Rebecca has been the club secretary, on the competition team for hippology, horse judging, Horse Bowl, and has gone to the Congress to compete in speech. She is a VFW Voice of Democracy Essay winner, teaches English as a second language, and plays piano and violin. She will ride her Tennessee Walking Horse, Ace in the Hole, in the pageant.
Fifteen year old Emily of Parkersburg competes in Eventing at the training and novice levels and is interested in training young horses. She is a sophomore at East Richland High School where her favorite subjects are agriculture and science. Emily aspires to become a small and large animal vet and specialize in chiropractic. She is a member of USEA, USEF, USPC, and the Edwards Co. Horse Bowl and Hippology team where she was 1st in state intermediate hippology in 2012 and 2013. She was also honored with the IL FFA Foundation – Stihl forestry scholarship. Emily is the daughter of Allen and Adrianna Shilling, DVM and will compete on her Thoroughbred Project Runway.
