Ride with
Lynne Levy and David Davis,
clinicians experienced in the
“new” Western Dressage discipline

DavisLevyLynne Levy's career in horses has been an ever-evolving pursuit to know more, leading her to ride and show in almost every breed and discipline.

David Davis, who will serve as "demonstrator" in this clinic, employs his Force Free Horse Training methods, which won him three World Championships in reining, and with his black and white overos has performed free style reining at the Quarter Horse Congress, AQHA, APHA, ApHC World Championship, NRHA Futurity and many horse fairs. As equestrian performers, Davis and his horses epitomize the
successful integration of classical dressage into a showy but easy-going style – cowboy dressage.

Levy now is in the forefront of the movement to bring classical dressage into the stock-seat arena with the newly formed Western Dressage discipline. (Western Dressage Association of America held its first conference in 2011.)

Western Dressage takes the principals of classical dressage and puts them into a more relaxed frame, Levy says, and every horse and rider can benefit from the improved communication and connection.

During her show career, Levy competed successfully in multiple divisions, completing her last 20 years of that chapter in her life in Versatility, earning Register of Merit and Supreme Versatility Championships.

In 2010, Levy was named Judge of the Year by the Wisconsin Horse Council.

Levy and Davis will work with riders who want to translate the benefits of classical dressage into their Western style of riding, including a natural headset with a long arch, but not low like a pleasure horse; reins that allow contact with the bit, and a "drive" in the horse but with a lower, shorter stride than a classical dressage horse.

The clinic is suitable both for riders who wish to compete in the new discipline as well as to simply improve their horsemanship.
