The Horsemen’s Council of Illinois is looking for a few good men and women to fill existing unexpired terms on the HCI Board of Directors. Prospective candidates for directorship should possess a willingness to work towards enhancing the state of the horse industry in Illinois, promoting the organization’s mission and addressing specific horse industry needs. Advisors are also needed to provide council to the HCI Board of Directors in the area of their expertise.

1. Maintain current membership
2. Attend scheduled meetings and participate in conference calls
3. Review and question reports and other correspondence
4. Participate actively on the Board
5. Participate as a member of at least one committee
6. Commit time to the fulfillment of HCI goals – this is a mostly volunteer organization
7. Assist in spreading the word to the rest of the community about the events and offerings of HCI

Attend HCI sponsored events, participate in monthly conference calls and work on projects as required

1. Annual weekend planning retreat in Springfield
2. Membership meetings and volunteer service at Illinois Horse Fair and Chicagoland Equestrian Lifestyle Expo
3. Specific activities outlined by the President each year
